Art 241 Final - Photo Book

This is the photo book I created in college for my Art 241 - Intro to Photography class in college! This was the culmination of a semester of studying and practicing my photography. I’ve always done photography as a hobby growing up, but taking this course really focused my abilities and helped me become a much better editor in Lightroom.

I had seen infrared-photos in the past and really loved how ethereal they looked after processing - so I chose to make my final project revolving around infrared photography (sort of)! To get true infrared photos, you need to convert a dslr camera body by sending it to a professional to remove a filter inside to allow the infrared waves hit the camera sensor (not really something I wanted to do on a budget/timeline).

The ALTERNATIVE way to get infrared-esque photos (this is how I did it) is to buy an infrared filter to attach to a camera lens - this results in an overwhelmingly red photo (see below for reference) that can be processed similarly to an infrared photo would be. The IR filter will greatly reduce the amount of light hitting the camera sensor, so all of the photos are taken as long-exposures, resulting in an ethereal look to the natural moving elements (very cool)! The editing process was done using Adobe Photoshop (for initial heavy color correction) and Lightroom (for overall adjustments and processing). Hope you enjoy!
